The author uses fowl language within her book. You will have to use your own judgement about this. However, she does give excellent advice accept that she puts down VA's who indulge in continuing education through certificate programs, is my take after reading. Ultimately if your wanting to hire a VA I found her book helpful in a lot of ways but with a negative tone towards virtual assistants.

The No Bullshit Guide to Virtual Assistants for Businesses eBook Tina Marie Hilton Reviews

NOW -- a book about working with virtual assistants written objectively by a virtual assistant. I especially appreciated the author's take on the term or title,
'Virtual Assistant'. For the 10 years that I have been working virtually, there has been discomfort for anyone who wasn't offering services that are typically associated with secretarial or administrative assistance jobs in the on-site working world.

The author, Tina Marie Hilton, gives virtual assistants a place to hang their hats regardless of the niche they serve or what the services are. All virtual assistants do ASSIST with something, be that filing, data entry, event planning, website design and maintenance, telephone calls....any task that can be assigned to someone effectively working off-site. Getting coffee might be a challenge.

The title is meant to be a bit of a shocker, but the book keeps a promise not to hide the facts and truth about virtual business under a flowery blanket of filler. She writes candidly about the various options for businesses who want to outsource tasks in terms of off-shore choices and the people/services available right in the community. For new clients who are not used to working with an independent contractor to get things done, she spells out the pitfalls of micro-management in the view of the tax people.

For a business owner, this book is a good investment when developing a plan for outsourcing. For the virtual assistant, the book has some good, solid 'identity' opinions that can strengthen a virtual practice.
I am a VA, and was looking for books to recommend to prospective clients for them to gain a better understanding of what a VA is and does. Tina does a great job of covering all bases and has a little fun with it too which always makes reading books of this sort more interesting. Thank you Tina!
As someone new to being a VA, our biggest concern is making business owners aware of what a VA is and what we do. This book is well written in plain English and gives more meaning and validity to VA's and the skills and expertise they possess....and our skills are not limited to just secretarial work which I think is most people's impression. We can do more than you think and partner with you and your business to make YOU a success. More importantly, Tina discusses why you need one and how to work with one. Tina Marie Hilton is a favorite of mine as a teacher and mentor. She definitely knows her stuff! Every business owner should have this book and every VA should have this book to provide to your potential clients.
